http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eknshN_uhM&feature=related
2. Complete the worksheet for the movie
3. Complete "Saving Sharks" if you haven't already done so.
4. Pick up the "Inquiry/Research" package that has all the following sheets below
5. Looking at the "ideas" sheet, think about something you'd like to know more about, or inform us about, that you could research.
6. Looking at the "forms" sheet, decide on what final form your research will take. For example: feature article for a magazine? documentary storyboard? radio documentary? prezi? essay?
7. complete the 5 variables chart
8. complete the first two columns of the KWL chart (what you already know about the topic, what you want to know) Be sure to have at least 5 questions in the W column. Also try to complete the "categories" area, predicting what your subtopics (paragraphs) might be. Don't worry if it changes later, after your research.
9. Look at the coloured sheet that outlines how to cite sources properly. Most of you will use the internet to research, although there are other sources such as books, interviews, news reports and documentaries. You cannot plagiarize by cutting and pasting information. You must take notes properly, which will be handed in for marks. So, in order to give credit, you need a bibliography. This coloured sheet will show you how to cite webpages, and it is not just cut and paste the URL (website address). Keep it handy and write down each webpage as you use it. don't try to go back and find them later.
10 Research and take notes properly. If you forget how, look at last week's lessons.
11. Prepare your final product.
